His work is highly influenced by the relationship between the craftsperson and the material through the process of producing the final product. Lutz’s career began with working in the industry for high-end furniture, while also teaching at the Rochester Institute of Technology and Penland School of Crafts. \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cem\u003eHe received his BFA in Woodworking and Furniture Design in 1984 from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He soon after began working for Thos.
